Holiday Time

How did I spent my holiday time off....well, I am glad to report good progress on some UFO's like this quilt for my nephew which (I shamely admit) was started months ago but the top and backing are done and I also got them sandwiched and ready for quilting and binding and sending off, hopefully soon. I really had wished it to be a christmas gift but it is going to be a Chinese New Year 2011 gift instead.
And then like I don't have enough UFOs as it is, I went on to start two more quilts all because a quilt group I belong to was sharing about a 10 min block and I watched the video and it seems easy enough and was very interesting and challenging in a way cos of the way you have to fold the fabrics and pin them so the criousity in me took over and a new project was started but it soon became two projects becos I didn't think the first fabric choices were a match after laying the blocks together so I decided they were better off with different fabrics but I couldn't throw away the already finished blocks so I had to come up with more blocks to match the rest of the unmatched blocks........does that make sense....???? ok....girl.....no more new projects and no more viewing new ideas......and by the way, it really wasn't a 10 min block, it was more like 30 mins block after all the pinning and folding............:)
Here's the finished top.........
......and the backing..........I thought it more interesting to piece the back with all the fabrics used rather than just using one fabric..........
