These paper pieced teacups were happily displaying themselves on my design wall for about a year now. Occasionally I have had to take them down to audition my other projects but eventually they always end up on the wall again. It seems they had found themselves a new home on the wall but........everytime I pass them by, I had the itchy fingers to finish them up but........I couldn't decide what to make of them......should I just choose the easy way and make it a weekend project and turn them into coasters or hot pad or should I make more similar blocks into a quilt or wall hanging........decisions, decisions......lol
Well.....last week.....with small steps.....they are finally finished and during the process, I even made a cupcake to go with them. I had stayed away from my quilting machine for so long that it took quite a struggle to get the ball rolling again......from oiling and dusting, to changing thread and foot and worst of all the tension...... :(............ but I love my quilting machine now. It is friendly to me again and has forgiven me for neglecting her for so long..... :)....I promise to visit you more often...... (it sits on the first floor and I sew on the third so sometimes out-of-sight-out-of-mind does play a role here until I really have to.....which in this case I did have to......I was trying to decide what to make as a gift for a bible study teacher).
Whoever says practise makes perfect is very wise...........I have been out of touch with quilting and binding that it took alot longer than I had anticipated..........and I am not quite thrill with the end result but its ok......I will rest on the phrase "Not perfect but Finished"..... :)
