The IQFestival in Houston came and went just like that. This year I went to the Winners Circle on Tuesday evening for the first time as my quilt made it into the finalist. Then I went to the Preview Show on Wednesday evening which ended @ 10pm. Thursday thru Sunday were full days for me ~ 12noon to 7pm. Praise God for a very good pair of thick cushioned comfortable shoes or I definitely would not have been able to make it. I lose about 5lbs from all the walking which was a huge blessing.
As a reward this year I let myself splurge. From previous years experience, I had witness ladies checking in their full shopping bags so they could go back and do more shopping. I thought they were crazy and I would never do that. Well....guess what....never say never......I did the unthinkable.......by mid Thursday afternoon, my hands were full and shoulders killing me and I called DH and told him I don't think I could go on and he suggested I go check my bags ....and I did....I had to or there was no way I could go on. My feet were fine but not my upper body. Now, I finally understood those ladies. They were the smart ones.
So what did I buy......well, there were a few items on my shopping list this year and Praise the Lord, I found them. But along the way, I got side tracked with many more other items.
I was looking for a nice quilt hanger and found this.....
.... for my next quilt project, I was looking for gradation fabric and found these......
.... I am always on the look out for 30's fabric and found these lovely fabrics
..... love florals and stunning colors so had to get these
..... decided on a new modern quilt for DH and got these with the pattern
..... rewarded myself with this kit cos I just love houses and buildings and color red
..... the lady that demonstrated this rulers was very nice and friendly to me so I had to get this and other goodies.....
..... for another quilt project, I was looking for metallic and gold and stunning fabrics and had to get these
..... I gave in and bought these Swarovski crystals and tools. I refused to buy them during previous show cos they were very dear and I just didn't know how to use them but this year, they had a demonstration and newer better crystals which didn't need glue.
..... on Saturday evening right before closing, I chanced upon these metallic threads and just had to have them.
...... these, I just got carried away and were impulse buys

After the show closed on Sunday, I had to decompress the following week. All the excitement for 6 days and now its all over. Where did all the creativity and inspiration go.....oh well, I will fine them again hopefully soon so I can start on my next quilt project. My ideas are in my head and my brain cells are often chewing on my fabric stash to see what I could do with them or if I needed more......:)
I had taken quite a few photos of the quilts at the show and plan to put them into a video so it would be easier for me to download. Hopefully I would get them done before the year is up.
