Quilt Museum

Have not been out of town for a while and kinda miss driving those long country roads to small quaint towns.  Heard a new Texas Quilt Museum just opened late last year and is situated in a small town not too far away.....~1 1/2hrs.  Since I had some time on my hands, I googled the map and jumped in the car and took off.  It was a beautiful day for driving and I absolutely enjoyed the peaceful ride.  Beautiful blue skies with white puffy clouds for the sun to play hide and seek.  I was going West, perfect direction for a day drive.

I praise God for a smooth and straight forward drive as I didn't get lost and arrived at destination in under 2hrs.  I picked the right day to visit as there were no big groups visiting that day.

Museum is small, consists of two old shops within a row of shophouses. They did a good job polishing it up and getting it up and running.  Good thing is they have different exhibits every 3-4 months so the public can come back and visit often.  However, no photography allowed hence no pictures from me but I did buy the book from them with all the photos of the quilts in the show.

There were quilt shops around the area maybe ~8-15 miles but I didn't get to visit them this time around.  Maybe for the next exhibit I will try to make it.

Let me know the next time you go. After 13 hours of pulling a truck, 2.5 hours is like a walk in the park. LaGrange is a beautiful area anyway.
