Monster Truck Quilt Top

I saw this monster truck fabric panel (middle piece) at the quilt shop sometime ago and decided to buy it without knowing actually what I was going to do with it.  I had thought about cutting it up into 5 pieces and add fabric around it or turn it into a wall hanging or a bag etc...  And then at another fabric shop, I saw these fabric (the border) that I thought might go well with the truck panel and took a chance to buy whats left of the fabric as I wasn't sure how much I need and I didn't have the panel with me to decide.

But when I got home, I was pleasantly surprised to find that both colors of the fabrics matched each other.  After much contemplation, I decided not to cut into the panel and to use the second fabric as a huge border around the panel instead.  I had also wanted to make the quilt top as big as possible so the child can grow with it and these design layout was the best use of the yardage that I had of the fabrics.

I am glad its finish and I do like the outcome.  Now I just have to think about the quilting.  I have quite a collection of finished quilt tops waiting to be quilted.
