Piggy Banks Part 1

I saw on a 'mold & handbuilding' flyer sometime ago these cutie cute piggy banks and couldn't stop thinking about them at work.  So I finally gave in and ordered the molds.  You have a choice between frog, dog, reindeer, turkey & alien.  I couldn't decide so I ordered them all.

I had so much fun making these.  I think I must have spent the whole weekend playing in the studio.  The 'alien' bank is really fun becos you can make them however you want.  They gave you a variety of eyes, nose, mouth, shoes & hair piece to choose from.  I just made one of each for now cos I was not sure how they would turn out in the kiln.  I am really happy they came out fine, no warping or cracking.  The pictures below show the before and after 1st firing.  The next step is glazing.
Frog - greenware stage

Bisque - after 1st firing
